Adjustable Multi-Level Stretching
Lower Back Stretcher can be used by both beginners and amateurs alike. There are 3 levels of adjustments on Lower Back Stretcher to help relax your back according to your comfort level.
Level 1 – Starting Position
This is the recommended starting position for all beginners. It raises your back 5.7cm in height above the floor. The key purpose of starting at level 1 is to prevent overstretching or aggravating your back issues as you are just starting out.
TIP : Use a pillow to prop your head slightly above the floor for support.
At Level 1, perform a 5 minutes stretch to relax your back muscles. Take a deep breath and exhale gently. Your body weight will do the work in stretching out your vertebrae.
If you find it difficult to stretch for 5 minutes straight, do pause and give yourself time to adjust. Do only what you are comfortable with and slowly work up to 5 minutes. If you experience any kind of discomfort in the beginning, it is usually an indication of the amount of tension and tightness in your back and should subside with time.
NOTE: Level 2 and 3 should only be used after you are comfortable with Level 1. Many individuals are comfortable with just using Level 1.
Level 2 – Advanced Position
Lower Back Stretcher raises your back 9cm in height from the floor. As your flexibility and posture improve, you may want to experiment with Level 2 and Level 3.
Start with lying down on Lower Back Stretcher, with your legs straight on the floor and your arms pressed to your sides. You will feel a considerable stretch on your back and if you desire a greater stretch, proceed to the following position.
Raise your arms above your head and shoulders and rest them as close to the floor as possible. In time, you should be able to extend your arms totally past your head and elbows on the floor.
Level 3 – Advanced Position and For Yoga Practitioners (Maximum Stretch)
This is the most advanced level and raises your back 11cm in height above the floor. It is recommended for individuals who are already comfortable with Level 1 and 2 and who are looking for a greater stretch. It is best used with a Yoga mat.
For this level, you can start out by putting your hands to your sides and then working them above your head. The maximum stretch you can achieve is by removing your pillow and then rest your head on the floor while using Powbod Arc Stretcher. Feel your back, shoulder, chest, and abdominal muscles stretching, and concentrate on relaxation as much as possible.
How to Assemble Lower Back Stretcher:
Step 1: Prebend the arch for better support. Lay the base and arch on a secured mat or non-slippery floor with the wide end closest to you.
Step 2: Slide the wide end of the arch into the single slot on the wide end of the base.
Step 3: Hold the narrow end of the arch firmly with both hands. Thumbs rest on the top of the narrow side of the arch and fingers below it. Press down with your thumbs and slide the narrow side of the arch in the Level 1 Position on the base.
